CILT New Zealand | A New Chapter in Leadership

Celebrating leadership, recognising service, and passing the baton.

The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport New Zealand (CILT NZ) marks an important leadership transition as Suhail Sequeira FCILT concludes four years of service across the roles of Vice President and President, including two years leading the Institute as National President.

Throughout his tenure, Suhail has demonstrated a strong commitment to advancing the transport, logistics and supply chain profession in New Zealand.

His leadership has helped strengthen industry engagement, elevate CILT NZ’s profile, expand professional development opportunities, and build stronger connections between industry, government and the wider transport community.

Among the achievements during his presidency have been increased corporate membership, more than 50 industry events and engagement opportunities, the expansion of CILT NZ’s professional networks, and a renewed focus on education, workforce development and industry collaboration.

Passing the baton

We are delighted to welcome Leeanne Anderson as the new National President of CILT NZ.

Leeanne brings valuable experience, industry knowledge and a strong commitment to the Institute’s purpose. We look forward to supporting her leadership as she builds on the foundations established and guides CILT NZ into its next chapter.

Suhail will continue contributing to the Institute as Immediate Past President and Treasurer, ensuring continuity and supporting the incoming leadership team.

Recognising outstanding service

We also extend our sincere appreciation to Diane Edwards, our outgoing Past President and Treasurer, for her longstanding dedication, leadership and contribution to CILT NZ.

Diane’s commitment to the Institute, its members and the wider profession has been invaluable. As she hands over the Treasurer’s responsibilities to Suhail, we acknowledge her years of service and the important role she has played in strengthening the organisation.

Looking ahead

Leadership transitions are an opportunity to celebrate achievements, recognise those who have contributed, and embrace new perspectives.

On behalf of CILT NZ, we thank Suhail and Diane for their dedication and service, and warmly congratulate Leeanne on her appointment.

The baton has been passed, but our shared commitment remains unchanged: advancing the transport, logistics and supply chain profession across Aotearoa New Zealand.
