Remembering Norman Marr

CILT New Zealand acknowledges with sadness the recent passing of Norman Marr.

Norman dedicated much of his career to developing the next generation of transport and logistics professionals. As a lecturer at Massey University, and alongside Walter Glass, he helped deliver CILT qualifications to many students who went on to build successful careers across the sector.

He was also an active member of CILT’s Central Section and contributed to the Institute during an important period in the development of the professional community we continue to value today.

While some newer members may not have had the opportunity to know Norman personally, many within the CILT membership will remember him as a lecturer, mentor, colleague or friend. His commitment to education, professional development and high standards has left a lasting legacy through the people he taught, supported and inspired.

On behalf of the National Council and all of us at CILT New Zealand, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Norman’s family, friends, former colleagues and students.

We thank Norman for his service to the profession and to the Institute. His contribution will not be forgotten.
