Ian Smith appointed Secretary General of CILT International

The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) International has announced the appointment of Ian Smith as its new Secretary General.

The announcement was made on 16 July by CILT International President, Chief Teete OWUSU-NORTEY (FCILT) (FGIPS), who welcomed Ian to the global leadership team.

In his announcement, Chief OWUSU-NORTEY said “Ian brings with him a distinguished career across aviation, transport, security, and the charity sector. With over 30 years of board-level leadership experience and extensive work in governance, operations, safety-critical roles, and data protection, he is exceptionally well placed to lead CILT International through its next chapter of growth and development.”

Chief OWUSU-NORTEY also noted Ian’s deep connection with the organisation. “Many of you may already know Ian through his longstanding involvement with CILT UK, particularly in the London Region. As Secretary General, he will work closely with the International President, the Council of Trustees, the International Secretariat and our global teams to strengthen our international impact and support our members and stakeholders worldwide.”
