CAPTIF Road Research Centre Tour

The Canterbury Accelerated Pavement Testing Indoor Facility (CAPTIF) Road Research Centre carries out accelerated road pavement testing. The facility tests different types of pavement and surfacing under a revolving, loaded dual-tyred truck wheel that closely replicates actual road conditions.
Join us for an exclusive CILT members event featuring Dr David Alabaster, a leading expert in road pavement technology. Dr Alabaster will share insights into cutting-edge pavement research and the practical applications shaping New Zealand’s road network.
Following the presentation, attendees will enjoy a guided tour of the CAPTIF testing facilities, witnessing state-of-the-art equipment in action as it evaluates pavement performance under real-world conditions. This is a unique opportunity to see how research directly informs road design, safety, and durability.
