CILT Breakfast Meeting [Bay of Plenty]

  • This event has passed.

Greetings to all,

Now we are out of the Red “traffic light” restriction, it is timely to commence with a CILT breakfast meeting.

After a recent absence of events, the committee are working on a mix of both meetings with speakers as well as potential field trips for the balance of 2022.

For the May meeting, we are delighted to have Ken Harris and Margaret Harris present on innovation and the container supply chain.

Ken will be well known to a number of our members, but I have attached a brief bio below of both Ken and Margaret:

Ken Harris:

Ken has had a varied career having worked on Wellington’s wharves before joining SGS, (a Swiss testing and inspection company) working for them in various local and international management roles largely in the supply chain sector. Ken returned to NZ leading the establishment of an oil industry joint venture responsible for ensuring supply to NZ ports and operating and trading ships in the region.

Ken then took on Port CEO roles with Nelson and Wellington port companies, and subsequently led the NZ quarantine service, before organising a management buyout of NZL group (from P&O). Ken’s has also led project teams for Govt including, panels advancing the NZ – Taiwan free trade talks and the committee behind Rugby World cup venue selection. Ken has directorships with various companies and owns the controlling interest in ContainerCo Limited as well as its managing company.

A late starter to education Ken has a Master of Business Studies, & M BA, and completed Postgrad studies at Insead (France).

Margaret Harris:

In addition to having worked with and studied for, her PHD at the prestigious Berkely and New Chicago universities Margaret, has worked in front line roles with NZL and ContainerCo.  The New Zealand CIO Awards named Margaret the emerging CIO of the year in 2019 and Margaret’s current role at ContainerCo, is leading a strategy and innovation team completing projects such as NZ’s first electric empty container truck, the development in conjunction with One-Stop of MODAL a next generation container depot enterprise program.  Margaret has also managed important civil works programs for the company including the several stages of a new facility in Napier, and the recent redevelopment of the Oak Road Container Park. Margaret is an alternative director on ContainerCo’s board and sits on the governance board of the NZ symphony Orchestra.

Please RSVP no later than Monday 2nd May so we can confirm numbers with the caterers.

The charge for the breakfast is now $25.00

Our bank account is 01 0373 0127418 02.

We look forward to having you join us on what should be a very interesting presentation.

Best wishes,
